Everybody's Chinese favourite: Chicken Manchurian!
One of the most popular foods on every kid’s menu is Manchurian. But parents are often hesitant about allowing them to eat the greasy takeaway Chinese. And so, here we are with an easy recipe to make delicious, finger-licking Chicken Manchurian, right at home! Go ahead and prepare a Chinese dinner for your family this weekend.
Cornflour (2 tbsp)
All-purpose flour (maida) (2 tbsp)
Egg (beaten) (1)
Fortune Oil (as required to deep fry)
Crushed ginger (1/2 tsp)
Crushed chilli peppers (1/2 tsp)
Crushed garlic (1/2 tsp)
Crushed green chillies (1/2 tsp)
Chopped coriander (Handful)
Chicken stock (250 ml)
Soya sauce (15 ml)
Ground black pepper (1/4 tsp)
Sugar (1/4 tsp)
Ajinomoto (1/4 tsp)
Water (60 ml)
Spring onions (finely chopped) (to garnish)
Boneless chicken (cut into 1 inch pieces) (500 grams)
In a bowl mix in these ingredients- corn flour, flour, salt, pepper and the beaten egg. Make sure to mix this batter thoroughly.
Now, soak the chicken pieces in this batter, one at a time.
Heat oil in a kadhai and deep fry the chicken pieces, till they have turned golden brown in colour. Once done, drain and keep aside.
Next, heat oil in a pan and fry garlic and ginger till they become slightly brown. This is just the first step while making manchurian sauce!
Next up, add in green chillies and the cilantro leaves. Let them fry for about a minute or two.
Remember to lower the heat and then add in the chicken stock, soya sauce, ajinomoto, salt, sugar and pepper. Simmer and let it cook for 5-7 mins.
Then add in corn flour mixed with water and bring it to boil. Finally, add in the fried chicken into the manchurian sauce and cook for 4-5 mins.

Garnish your creation with chopped spring onions and you’re all set to serve it hot with fried rice or noodles.
